Rickard Brånemark

Born 1960. Associate Professor Rickard Brånemark, physician (1987), PhD (1996), University of Gothenburg (Gothenburg, Sweden), and Master of Science in Engineering in Engineering Physics (1987), Chalmers University of Technology.
Dr Brånemark is the founder and owner of Integrum AB and served as CEO between 1998–2015 and 2022–2024. For more than 20 years he has been a pioneer in studies of titanium implants for the anchoring of limb prostheses and has performed more than 200 such operations. As the most experienced surgeon in this field, Dr Brånemark is internationally recognised and was, among other things, awarded the Hanger Prize in 2007 for his contribution to amputation research. He is currently a visiting associate professor in Orthopedic Oncology as well as at the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers at UCSF, San Francisco.
